Half Way Through 2009

June 7th, 2009

Well, we’re half way through 2009 and fast approaching our 12th year as a group.

“Upping the artistic ante was the pulsating music of minimalist composer Steve Moshier, who, with his venerable Liquid Skin Ensemble, provided live, rhythmically rich accompaniment.”

                                      - Victoria Looseleaf, Dance Magazine (6/09)

- The Cypress College concert in May was a total blast and the youtube video of us performing They Had No Plows” with the Cypress College Scratch Orchestra is a real knockout:

They Had No Plows

- Also, the Scratch Orchestra’s performance of “Shakeout” was pretty cool:

Shakeout

- The performance of Surrender, Dorothy” with the Rudy Perez Performance Ensemble and guest vocalist Linda Brown at the Luckman Fine Arts’ Intimate Theater at CSULA in June was a huge success and quite an honor for Liquid Skin since it was also a ‘Tribute to Rudy Perez’.

Looking forward to performing Surrender, Dorothy” at the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena the 23rd and 24th of October this year.
